  • Instructor, Negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Law Society of Upper Canada, Bar Admission Course (1992-2000).

  • Past Chair of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's Committee on Trade Mark Legislation.

Civic Involvement:

  • Recently helped negotiate 55 boating club leases with the City of Toronto.

  • Member of 2006 Dragon Boat World Crew Championship Organizing Committee, and Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation Stakeholder Committee.

  • Helped raise $23 million from three levels of government to build a water sports course in Humber Bay, which opened in 2006.

  • Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club -Toronto's oldest yacht club - Commodore (2002 - 2004), Vice Commodore, 1999-2002. Created a scholarship program to provide 15 needy children a year with sailing day camp. Created a community access sailing program. Increased club revenues 15 percent while cutting expenses.

Personal Interests:

  • Racing sailboats and radio control sailboats

  • Computational fluid dynamics

  • Designing and building experimental radio control sailboats

  • Computer programming (e.g., disassembler, terminal program, internet data retrieval programs, option trading software, boat design software, and patent search software).

  • 2003 Canadian Champion for Soling 1 Metre radio control sailboat class; 4th place, 2005 US National Championships for Soling 1 Metre class.

  • Applied evolutionary theory and contemporary scientific research.
